Agent_Orange Posted April 2, 2008 Share Posted April 2, 2008 Bicyclist Hit Twice, Driver Sought updated 11:59 a.m. ET, Tues., April. 1, 2008 ORLANDO, Fla. - A bicyclist is hospitalized on Tuesday morning after being hit twice. It happened along John Young Parkway at Sand Lake Road in Orange County. Authorities said the bicyclist was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Investigators said a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling along John Young Parkway around 2 a.m. struck the back tire of the bike. The rider fell from the bike and was left in the middle of the road. A motorcycle also hit the bicyclist. Another driver noticed the injured bicyclist and stopped to help. Paramedics arrived shortly afterward and transported the victim to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the Eclipse surrendered, but the biker is still missing. Link to comment
velomoto Posted April 2, 2008 Share Posted April 2, 2008 The biker's probably still cleaning his shorts... Hopefully the cyclist will be recover. We had a similar accident here in CO a couple days ago where a person was run over three times on the interstate. The 2nd and 3rd people did not stop - possibly because they didn't realize what they hit as at least one person called the CHP to report hitting "a rock" on the highway. In any case, the deceased had been ejected thru the sun (moon?) roof of his SUV when it rolled. Authorities assume he was not wearing a seatbelt. Link to comment
