kopov260
I have installed the Escort 8500 x50 radar detector on my ST and connected it to the battery. I would like to connect it to some "hot" wire under seat so it powers up from the ignition (when I turn the bike on). I have the diagnostic terminal under seat and am wondering if I can somehow connect it there. Any ideas??? Thanks. Link to comment
krussell
See this thread. I'm not sure if the ST is the same, but would be curious to know if it is. Link to comment
Semper_Fi
Another option is upfront under the steering head. Here the link http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/958765/an/page/page//vc/1 Many choices Link to comment
krussell
Another option is upfront under the steering head. Good point. Connecting to the GPS socket there is a heck of a lot easier than running a wire up under the tank etc. Both the GPS socket up front and the powerlet connection in back are switched. Both stay on for a minute or two after you turn the bike off. I have my Zumo powered from the GPS connector, and my Autocom powered from the rear connector. Link to comment
