I have the machinery and capability to build these. I have been flirting with the idea for several years, just hadn't seen anyone else try it.

 

The idea of top loading boxes that will hold square stuff like my laptop case and notebooks is very appealing. Clamshells are great because they give you access to everything at once - they also suck because they give you access to everything at once. :-)

 

I may do a cardboard mock-up and see how it looks. Pretty is as pretty does.

Thought about getting some caribou bags and modifying the mounts to work on the RT. Or Jesse. (Think Safari's would be great but don't want to spend that much on an experiment.)

 

I don't know what the difference in the rear subframe is. It could be some plastic is in the way, just don't know.
