Quinn
Why do doctors use latin terms? . . . . . . Because if they didn't, no one would want to be a proctologist. Link to comment

awagnon
I have actually seen a number of these in medical records, especially FLK for "funny looking kid". It's often used to describe a child which you think might have something wrong, but it's took early to tell. The others I've seen infrequently. There are more which you haven't listed. I don't recall if you listed GOMER for Get Out of My ER, and TAT for Tired All the Time, a common complaint of patients. Link to comment
lawnchairboy
For an amusing and sad, although now largely historical, look at the medical training experience in the US, read "House of God" by s. shem. Learn many more funny acronyms... A true classic for those of us in the medical world. Link to comment
Shaman97
GLM - Good Looking Mom. Funny...we used the same criteria in Little League. After we'd picked the good players, and there were basically average to below-average players left to draft, some managers (not me ) used a GLM factor when deciding which kid to pick for the team. bmwdude
FUBB and FUBAR are nice ones, also. It is funny that I have actually seen these in a progress note and it was descriptive and accurate. Link to comment
