Slartidbartfast Posted February 8, 2008 Share Posted February 8, 2008 I am preparing my 85 R80RT Mono for some summer touring in the UK. Picked up a large Kappa top box (Givi clone) for £1 and can get a mounting plate for it quite cheaply. However, I have been unable to locate a comparably inexpensive Givi rack. I can easily make brackets to attach the mounting plate to the stock BMW rack but do not know if this can handle the weight. If the rack is not up to the task, I'll revert to plan-A and strap a small waterproof duffel on the back seat but I do like having light bulky stuff like my jacket liner in a handy spot. Can anyone tell me if the BMW rack will be strong enough? Link to comment
