The NFL Is Coming To Canada

Well, sort of. The Buffalo Bills will play 8 games (including 5 regular season ones) in Toronto over the next five years. That's one regular season game per year. It would seem that, given the relatively poor economic conditions in Buffalo, the team will make a bit of extra money playing in Toronto where they can get away with charging more for tickets. That's interesting, since the Bills' home stadium holds 78,000 while the domed stadium in Toronto holds about 53,000, if I recall. It's reported that about 15,000 fans from Canada now attend each Bills home game. The team owner, Ralph Wilson (now 89), says the Bills will not move while he's still alive. After that, the team will be sold. If the team ever moves permanently to Toronto, and someday wins the Super Bowl, it really would then be a world championship. smile.gif
