sck166
What is the general opinion on the age of tires? There are some Metzler Z4's for sale on a eBay at a really good price, but they were manufactured in early 2004. Link to comment
Carl U
I think you have to know how they were stored. UV can ruin tires. I know on motorhomes they say 6 years is the limit provided there are no cracks visible on the sidewalls. Tires are cheap when compared to medical bills! Err on the safe side. Link to comment
duckbubbles
If they have any heat cycles on them at all, it's a safe bet that they are age hardened. They can have plenty of tread depth and no grip, especially in the wet. I would personally avoid them. Frank Link to comment
ianboydsnr
I would not touch them, not because of what others have said, but because the Z4's were rubbish in the wet Link to comment
