RFW
Can't find the suggested spline grease - Optimoly TA, does anyone know if the Honda moly 60 paste would be acceptable for the rear wheel splines? Optimoly is made by Castrol, and is not easily available in North America. In the past, BMW has recommended Unimoly C220 (a bonded, solid lubricant made by Kluber in Germany) but that is also not commonly available here either. Honda's Moly 60 (or any 60% MoS2 grease) is an excellent substitute. Moly 60 has been successfuly used by many, many BMW owners (including me, with my 21 year old K100RT) to lube splines for years. A small tube of the stuff will last years. Link to comment
