I have had many e-mails and PM’s asking about the next mid-week Slackers ride, and here it is! cool.gif

*****************************

NEXT RIDE: Mt Baldy, CA

WHEN: Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

WEATHER: Sunny, 55deg

MEET: 9:30am at Mobil Station (210fwy/Azusa)

LUNCH: Mt. Baldy Lodge

MILES: From Anaheim or Corona round-trip = ~120miles

MAP: Google Maps Link!

*****************************

The ride itself is not overly long, about 55 miles in our beautiful Southern California mountains. We will meet at the Mobil station right off the Azusa exit on the 210 freeway. This is about 30 miles from Anaheim or Corona, less for most of our LA county folks. The trip will ride up Azusa canyon to the dead-end near Falling Springs, take a picture break to lament that the road is not open all the way to the CA2, then back down to the East Fork road, across the bridge, following Glendora Mountain Road, and Glendora Ridge Road to Mount Baldy Road. Lunch at the Mount Baldy Lodge (yes, they have beer!) followed by a quick jaunt back down to the 210 freeway where we will all go our separate ways.

The road is a good mix of high-speed sweepers and tight mountain twisties, so advise your pillion if you bring one. The miles are fairly short, but it will take time to get through, especially up the slower parts of the climb and the narrow road at the top, so we will be leaving the Mobil station at 10am sharp.

I encourage you to meet locally to ride to Azusa. All Inland Empire riders are welcome to meet at jaytee’s house (at the 15 and 91 freeways) at 8:30am, leaving between 8:45am and 9:00am. PM me or e-mail to get directions and a gate code for my house.

I will update the ride list every few days. thumbsup.gif

I just want to be sure.

I'm assuming any reference to a side-car going on Glendora Ridge Road, or even Glendora Mountain Road between East Canyon and the helipad, is a joke, right?

Apparently you were not at Paso Robles when Mike Bacon and I shredded a rear tire sliding around the poker run. Most of the time I don't do that but it can be done.

I don't intend to be a fast guy if I go. Windy roads are a problem?? dopeslap.gifdopeslap.gif

Just got back from today's ride... clap.gif

Superb would be an understatement.

Great Ride, everything from sweepers to tight technical twisties.

A wonderful group of riders, an interesting mix of bikes,

And it was all topped of with a delightful eating place for lunch up in Mount Baldy

Dianne had a confilict with today's schedule, bncry.gif

But after I described the ride, she is already looking forward to the next one. thumbsup.gif

JT, you can put us on the list now!!! smile.gif

The ride was indeed superb, and I dont think we could have asked for better weather. In fact most of us were quite overdressed.

We had 10 bikes: 3 R1200RT's, 1 R1200ST, 1 R1150RT, 3 Warriors, 1 ST1100, 1 FZ-6 - I think...

Mike,_R, 357WARRIOR and AlanH met at my house, then off we went to meet the group and see notacop's cool little sidecar rig. While he didn't go on the ride, it was fun to chat and see the setup.

I know there are more pictures out there, so if you have them, post up!!!

All in all, another successful slacker's ride! thumbsup.gif

Apologies for not continuing on the ride. The rig felt like it's name sake,'Gehgin Christ'. After 3 years of not riding it did it ever feel weird! Idle sat at 2500 after a run down the FWY. Old gas gumming up the works. Needs more sorting out.

"Twas a pleasure to meet the group of you. 'Twill be more a pleasure to actually be able to ride together in the future and get to know more of you! wave.gif
