Throttlemeister problem

I swapped out my throttle cable a few months back, and just realized yesterday that my Throttlemeister no longer works. I pulled off the hex screw on the right side, the knob came off, but nothing else. Can someone give me a thumbnail sketch on how these work (and how maybe pulling and replacing the throttle cable could mess it up)?

 

I'm going to pull the handle apart this afternoon to try and figure it out, but thought that maybe someone might have a tip on these things.
