Whip Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 This part of the story will be from Yellowstone to Missoula Montana where we are planning to meet Mr. Chris Olson, Mr Bill Walker and his body guard. When we were getting loaded up I noticed all the people headin to the Old Faithful viewing area. We couldn't leave yet....... Ok, now we can go. As we left, we pasted the newest edition to Yellowstone. Many years ago this was the best way to see the parks. The only park that still has em is Glacier National and they're red. Yellowstone, of course, ordered Yellow ones when they decided to bring em back. Headin north outa YNP is not very exciting. We stopped for Lunch in Ennis MT. Parked the bike in a nice shady spot next to a "vacant" building. When I got back to the bike I realized it wasn't vacant, just waitin for bidness. We didn't eat here but I liked the way it looked. I don't know what this dude is lookin for, but he ain't gonna find it with all those weeds. I think they like their Fly Fishin in Ennis. We did go through a cool little town. Virginia City MT On down the road.... We got to Missoula a couple days before Mr. Olson and a day ahead of Mr Walker. The last time I was in Missoula was with Killer and BeneciaRT_GT. We had a lot of fun. I don't remember all of it. We stayed in the same hotel downtown on the river.....I didn't remember the river from last years visit. This fishin stuff can be serious bidness. I wonder where these fish fit on that chart. The next mornin I got up early and did a little scoutin, I wanted to find out what Missoula was all about. It's a relatively small town and many people ride their bikes or walk to work in the summer. At least that's what this little guy told me. Missoula through a Nikon.... I really wanted to see "Queens of the Stone age"...Mrs Whip would have none of that!!!! Right twice a day... I've never seen cleaner alleys in my life. I really like this town. Every town has their meter maids.....maybe that's why everyone rides a bike or walks to work??? I always wonder what happen to R2D2.....Hollywood can be so cruel!!! Oh Boy!!!!.....if this bike only knew what it was in for?????????????????? Teaser.....for next week. Have a great day!!!!! Whip

ChrisNYC Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Great pictures! I will never forget one particular visit to Missoula, where I, visiting from NYC (population maybe 8 million), sat in a small diner in the town of Missoula (population maybe 40k?). I was so relaxed, away from the big city, out here in the big sky country, where cattle might outnumber people. Just then, a route/distributor guy walks into the diner, sits down at the counter next to a local, breathes a long sigh and says, "Man I gotta get outta this town, this place is getting too crowded!" I had to smile, I guess everyone's got their limit on how much "city-life" they can take ------------------ Chris (aka Tender Vittles ) Little '77 KZ400 in the Big Apple Black '99 RT for Everywhere Else, such as ...

USAF1 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Great shots of Missouls!! The picture of the clock that was right twice a day is in front of where I worked as a busboy in my freshman year of high school. I'd ride our Suzuki 50 in to school..then to work.....and my mother would get off work (US Forest Service)...leave the car for me, and she'd drive the bike home. It's always nice to see ones hometown thru somebody elses eyes.. Pat

I used to drive the bus-trailer combo for a raft co. in Durango, CO. On the pick-up trip when I'm hauling the tourists back to town we'd follow the dirt road to the main highway. When we'd get to the highway I might of had to wait ten or twenty seconds to pull out, and it was late afternoon. I'd always say, "Rush hour in Durango" like I meant it and they'd just crack up. Great pics Mr. Whip! Jan
