horn - to - headlight re-wiring?

I'm thinking of wiring my horn button to my high beam headlight, so that I get both brights and horn with one button (traffic in seattle sucks!). My first inclination is just to add a wire and suppose it's good. But this bike was a lot of money for me, so I'll pose the question to you 12V gurus: Should I add a relay and/or fuse to this setup? Other considerations? '96 1100rs

Don't just add a wire between them! Think about it the other direction too. E.g. when you turn your brights on at night the horn would sound constantly!

 

If you are going to do this you will need to use a relay. Trigger the relay from the horn wire and have the relay close across the existing high beam switch.
