Replacing rubber on footpegs

conglomerate

Recommended Posts

I have new rubber for the footpegs on my R1100RT. Something tells me it's not going to be as easy as sliding/cutting the old ones off and sliding on the new ones. What is the correct procedure. Thanks

i have replaced mine before, i used a utility knife and cut the old ones off, removed the slider screw on the end and just shoved the new one on. Pretty straight forward.

Exactly! I replaced my footpeg rubber recently and it took about 60 seconds per side. I cut the old one off, and with a little spit slid the new one on.

Describe location of slider screws. Are these the things that I attach my bike cover to?

Thanks

The are the little sacrificial bolts sticking out the bottom of the footpegs. IIRC a 10mm wrench temporarily removes them to slide the new rubber on.
