Fergie Posted July 14, 2007 Share Posted July 14, 2007 Back in the middle 80's there was a guy, I think he was German, that I sent my ECU to out of my K100RT to be reworked. I think he was in Kentucky or around there somewhere. Anyone have any info. Link to comment
RSL Posted July 15, 2007 Share Posted July 15, 2007 I dunno who the guy was, but old printed circuits may develop hairline cracks at the solder joints. Sometimes a hairline crack will act as an on/off switch with changes in temperature of the board, making it difficult to duplicate and diagnose a problem. A $10 soldering pen from Radio Shack is wonderful to re-flow the solder. This trick is very profitable for folks who sell refurbished ECU and DME boards for Porsche and BMW. Link to comment
