bigguy05641
I am in the process of finding a pre-owned beemer, and prefer a forward riding posture. A 99 R1100RT has caught my eye, but it offers too upright of a posture for me. Does anyone know if the handlebars on this RT can be altered to my liking. I read a lot about bar backs, but is the inverse offered? Thanks, Steve. Link to comment
EffBee
I dobut you'll find what you're looking for in an RT, unless you have a machinist make you a set of custom bars. Try looking at an R1100 or R1150RS. Same engine as the RT. Available with luggage. More forward riding position. Link to comment
r77toy
You can buy a top plate with clamps for tubular bars. Link to comment
Eckhard Grohe
I had read that the handle bars from the 1100R or 850R would fit and give a more forward position. I also read that the 75th anniversary model, 1923 +75 = 1998, had the same finish as the stock bars. The bars would cost about $261 x 2, new price, to try them. Link to comment
