wrestleantares
Well I went to ride today and did not get far. My bike made a slight (and I mean slight) rattle in upper RPM, cut off and died. The starter is not getting enough juice to restart the bike. Any thoughts of what to check - before I begin the tear down? Do you think it is just the battery and I should try that, or is the slight rattle indicative of something else. NOTE: I have had a little bit of problem with this battery before despite it being fairly new (out of warranty time though). Link to comment
hazmat
You could have a bad alternator they are gear driven and do rattle with no load on them. Did you try jumping it or is it just dead in the water? A very good place to ask questions is the http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/cmps_index.php forum they have wizards there and probably tell you whats wrong in a short time. What year is it, some of the older ones when the voltege was low would weld the starter contacts togater. Good Luck! Link to comment
