KingBee
Hi All! I'm a new guy here, with a problem. I have a 96 R1100rt with 65000 miles on it. I believe the ABS main relay is stuck . I get a whine from the ABS whenever the battery is connected. I've got the tupperware off, and the gas tank, but I'm reluctant to go deeper without some advice. Can I replace this relay at home? Can it be disconnected so I can ride until I find the parts? Thanks! Jim Link to comment
KingBee
Well, after taking apart way more than I needed to, I found the rely under a plastic cover on the ABS unit. Looks like it will be simple to replace, now that I've found it. Link to comment

Sorry I missed your question but part #61362306526, abs motor relay, costs about $95 new so maybe the "Beemerboneyard" site can help you out with one from a pump that failed. Click below...... used and new parts Link to comment
John Dickens
This is where it lives:- It's behind the sliding cover (9). Link to comment
KingBee
Thanks, gentlemen. I've ordered a new relay from MAX BMW. $95 seems steep, but I don't want to have to fool around with this again. Link to comment
