Bud
It should be obvious but I can't see the trick. Link to comment
Ken H.
Break the old one out, glue the new one in. Link to comment
A-Red Bill
Bud: Mine came mounted on the plastic backing. The old one snapped out, that is the hard part, and the new one snaps in. It helps to disassemble the mirror pod, simple, then you can get a good look at it and plan your work accordingly. Link to comment
mirage
I just replaced my mirror and backing plate on the R1100RT last night. remove the 3 screws that hold the backing plate in the mirror pod. You can then see the adjuster that is screwed to the backing plate under the mirror. The mirror snap mounts to the adjuster. It has 4 locate pins and 4 sets of snap lock plastic tabs. The glass is 1200mm on a 99 R1100RT. Mirage 99 R1100Rt 05 K1200LT Link to comment
Bill Dennes
Once you see how the latches and pins work, it's possible to change mirrors without taking the pod apart. Link to comment
