Robt_J_Webster
I recently purchased a BMW alarm system for my 2000 R1100RT. Unfortunately, the system did not come with an installation manual. Does anyone know of a source for this information, or would I be better off taking the bike and the alarm back to the dealer for installation? I am reluctant to do this, because I am currently working in Spain, and the dealers here (although nice guys), have strange and inconvenient hours. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
Ken H.
You bought the factory BMW alarm? Unfortunately I believe the non-alarm bike wiring harness and alarmed bike wiring harness are different. So the alarm won't plug-and-play so to speak. I'm sure it could be rigged up to work, but it's going to be a challenge. Which = $$. Personally, I'd abandon the idea, but short of that, a good dealer and a deep pocket may be you're only choice. If you really want an alarm a after-market non-integrated one I suspect is going to be easier and cheaper. Link to comment
Uggles
I'd go back and hammer them for the manual or find a dealer to provide one. Install Manual for an '03 1150 RT is available if you want. PM if required. May give you an idea but I would think there would be a deal of difference. Cheers Link to comment
