Boffin
Today I took advantage of a bit of free time and the unseasonably good weather to take a trip to my local castle. Building of this castle began under royal warrant in 1480 but was never finished, the owner Lord Hastings having made some political errors leading to his execution in 1483. The castle has been closed to the public for a while whilst safety work was carried out. Unfortunately it is also closed now until next summer, so I could not get the interior shots I wanted. Here a few pictures for you: The weather looks good for tomorrow - I may get the chance to visit a few more local historic sites if SWMBO does not have to many jobs lined up for me. Boffin
Andy, Nice photos , - did you have the place all to yourself ? Steve No, there was a lone fisherman having some success at the back of the moat. It is always nice to visit the castles on a crisp, cool but sunny day as it keeps the crowds at bay.
