Foxy
Occasionally on start up (often the first start up of the day), I get the alternating ABS light flash. Per the manual, I shut off the engine, re-start the bike and get the correct signals. The manual says that the alternate flashing of ABS lights is possibly due to some type of interference. Can someone help me understand this? Is the ABS system sensitive to some type of electrical or other signal? Where might that interference come from? Mars? The coffee maker? I think my system is ok, it's just that this happens occasionally and I wonder about it. Foxy Link to comment
Ken H.
The most common cause of this, especially if as in your case a restart corrects it, is a battery that is getting low. Indeed on the R1100xx series this is typically the first sign that your battery is short for this world. Link to comment
bmwmick
Foxy, Go read this: http://www.ibmwr.org/r-tech/oilheads/ABS-II_low_voltage_modification/index.shtml and you will have a better understanding of the problem. That little factory 'bug' you have has sold LOT of batteries needlessly. Mick Link to comment
