Illini
Has anyone found a set of hippo hands that will fit the long profile of the RT's bars. I was at a bike shop and they let me try a pair for ATV's but they're too short (BMW bar ends make it long and hard) Sorry bout the porn They don't have to be lined. Link to comment
Isettanut
Just enter Hippo Hands and the site will be there. I checked last year and they have a model for the 1200 rt. Cost was under a hunderd U.S. I am ready to order a set myself. I talked to Dave Swisher at Shilo and he doesnot use heated gloves or rain mitts. Just the Hippo Hands. He would know if things work or not. Leon 05RT Link to comment
TomfromMD
Wouldn't the Hippo Hands restrict the rear view in the mirrors even more? Link to comment

Isettanut
I just ordered a set of Hippohands for a R1200RT at a cost of $59.95 plus $12.50 shipping to Missouri. Allow 10 to 12 days for delivery. Concerning mirrors....Yes, I expect to add aux. mirrors. Order from World Vintage Motorcycle Sales Co. at hippohands.com I will give a report after using them in cold and or wet weather. Leon 05RT Link to comment
yellowmike
I have used a set on my 1200 GS and I love them. All you will need is a pair of light weight gloves and the hippo hands and you will be set for cold weather riding.... Link to comment
Isettanut
I recieved the Hippo Hands today. Install is easy. Fit is good. Workmanship good. Shipping was six days. Aux mirrors a must. A cold weather test will follow. Since there are no cut outs for stalk mirrors I will search for a different type. Any one have a suggestion? Leon 05RT Link to comment
RSL
One can also imagine using a generically similar product commonly sold for snowmobiles, but modified somewhat to fit your bike. Cost: ~$15 - ~$20 Link to comment
Isettanut
Some how the mossy look does not ring my bell. I looked at a set on a honda atv and they are much smaller. Will not cover the swx. ware. Leon 05RT Link to comment
