pqbon
Hi, I despritely want to mount my autocom on my RT but I refuse to have wires just hanging out of the bike or poking out from under the seat. I really want something similar to: http://www.starcom1.com/bulkheadfitting.htm I'd be willing to try the starcom1 cable if it was a 7pin din but I can't find anywhere where they describe there headset connector. Has anyone come up with a solution for the autocom? This is what autocom pointed me to when I asked them: http://www.autocomamerica.com/product_details.cfm/productid/25666 Cheers. Link to comment

Bill_Walker
I've asked about this in the past. Was told by Autocom Tom that Autocom considers it a safety issue. You really want a straight pull on that DIN connector if you happen to part company with the bike, so that the wire doesn't tie you to the bike. If it's not a straight pull, the connector could bind and fail to come apart. This is also of value in the case where you forget to disconnect before you get off the bike. You might damage your panel with a panel mount. Link to comment
pqbon
Well this may be the issue that forces me to a starcom1 or baehr system. And as far as safety, since so many of us are wearing electric clothing and such we are already teather to the bike. However, few electric conectors will withstand a 200lb and 600lbs object traveling in different directions. The only way the connector will not break is if you are already going in the same direction as the bike. Link to comment
BigChill
Would one of these work? Circular DIN Panel Mount Recepticles I am sure you can find the part you want from a good electronics store, or online. Willie Link to comment

Gregori
I want to fit a flip open cover similar to the BMW power connector. So - buy the lid, and use it with that socket. Lid is available here: ($3 for plastic, $7 for metal) http://powerletproducts.com/products/plugs_sockets.php G Link to comment

Sigh... Link to comment
