New spring in my step...er, forks

The friendly FedEx driver just dropped off the box containing a pair of progessive fork springs for my '85 K100RT. Before commencing rounding off bolt heads, breaking circlips, spraying fork oil around the garage, and other mechanical offenses installing them, I thought I'd consult the sages here on pitfalls or tips to make go smoothly.
