SSchuckman
After 4 years, the battery in my 2002 K1200RS has died. In an earlier thread, http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/sh...true#Post686706, Mick (bmwmick) stated I use the Panasonic AGM batteries in all three bikes. I replace them every 4 years and have only had ONE fail in service but that was after 6 years when I forgot to replace it on my normal schedule. The one for K-Bikes is the LC-X1220P 20AH vs 16 for the odyssey and 275 CCA vs 220 for the odyssey. $47 from Digikey.com with free shipping. Mick Do these batteries install without modification to the battery, the cables and without using some type of adapter. Thanks, Steve Link to comment

The earlier LC-X1220P had slightly smaller holes in the attachment lugs and I 'used' to run a 1/4" drill bit through the holes to make them large enough to reuse the stock bolts. The last two batteries that I've seen already had the larger holes. Mick Link to comment
