Steve1962
A busy weekend meant I didn't get out on the bike until early Sunday evening ,which was probably a blessing as it has been very hot of late .......... So I donned the gear , mounted up , and rode off in search of some shade and cooler climes in which to ride ............. Out in the sun ,it really was roasting ............. Parked up by a country junction ............. The onlookers ................. Finally , I found some water ..which had to be negotiated very carefully ....... Moving on .............it just wouldn't be an english summer without a game of cricket .............. Someone just got bowled out .............. The first strike of the new batsman ............ Onto the back streets of Burford........... I find this beautiful old car ............ It's an Alvis ................ Heading home .............. Out for an hour , but that was long enough in the heat ......... Steve Link to comment

Francois_Dumas
So THAT's where you wash your bike all the time !!!!!!!! Talking of fluids, looks like that Alvis lost some....... F. Link to comment
Steve1962
That was a bit dicey , riding through the water ........... the ground was very uneven , and I nearly lost my footing when I stopped to put the sidestand down ...the water was very refreshing though !! The Alvis parked up just round the corner as I was getting off the bike in Burford , so I went to have a look ...beautiful car - the radiator leaked , but only for a minute or two . Although it was 6.30 pm , it was extremely hot and I would have struggled to ride any great distance without dehydrating - I can see how a rider could easily get exhausted riding in such heat . Darren
Steve, how do you manage to ride around your area of Burford and not get any bugs on your bike. Here in Dorset the bugs are rife, even a short rides sees my bike covered. Link to comment
Steve1962
Darren, There are no flies on me ....... Just lucky I guess , although I did get attacked by a killer squad of flying ants whilst taking one of the photos on this thread [ 2nd/3rd photo ] . Steve Link to comment
