Ziggy
Specifically, I want to know if there's a trick to moving the lock for my sidecase into the new latch mechanism I'm installing. I ground the rivets and have the old mechanism out, but all I remember from what I've read in the past is that you have to stick something in the little hole below the orange lock tab's slot to release it. Before I spray pins and tumblers all over my floor, I thought I'd press my pause button and ask for advice. Anybody done this before? Link to comment

T__
Stan, yes leave the key in the lock or you will have tumblers everywhere.. I just re-keyed my side cases & the hard part was removing the lock cylinder (it took a little picking around to get them out).. As far a putting them back in? I just inserted them (key still in cylinder), then wiggled them around while pushing a little & they went right back in.. Twisty Link to comment
