Seeing the the Bay of Fundy has been a bucket list of mine for a long time. When we were flying home from Desert Storm, first land mass we crossed was Nova Scotia. The bay of Fundy looked like this giant mud ring, the tide was out. I told the kid sitting next to me, hey that's the Bay of Fundy. He said where's that Russia?? I was laughing so hard I think I pee'd. Before my knee started going south I was thinking about doing Nova Scotia this year. Well maybe next year. Great Pics Mike! Our kids (in the photos, not the video) say this is a "must do" and do the double session. In the pix of our kids, the water coming over the gunwales. In the second pix, our grand daughter is swept out of the raft. 2 1 Link to comment

She loves it. 4 Link to comment
greiffster
So we’ve done about 2300 miles in eight days getting into Halifax. The weather forecast showed rain the next day for most of the morning and afternoon. So we put bikes to bed for the day and headed out to check out Halifax. The bikes have been good to us, so they got the covers on for the day. The Halifax Citadel entrance This girl could reload that Enfield in about 8 seconds. Impressive. The Military Museum. Elvis Moose? Alexander Keiths been making beer in Halifax since 1820 I think. Try the red ale. The Brown Hound serving A. Keith is behind the brewery. Cool place. Found the Compass Distillery. They make some really good gins and a "beer whiskey". I almost bought some if I had room in the bags. 11 Link to comment

greiffster
Beautiful views on the Cabot Trail. Found a distillery. Weird. Apparently these guys were sued by the Scottish Whiskey Association or some such group for the use of “Glen” in their name. But won in the early 2000s. So screw those guys. They’re 14 yo. is real good as the peated if you’re into the ashtray stuff. 6 1 Link to comment

Our plans changed and we never did stay there but it looked like a very cool place. 2 1 Link to comment

greiffster
We discovered there is a ferry from NS to Prince Edward Island. I should have known that, but since there is a bridge further west, it didn’t really occur to me to look. It was a rainy morning, so we hopped the ferry instead of riding all the way around. 10 Link to comment

The Ferry is neat. We did the ferry over and the Confederation Bridge back. Found a great lunch spot too in Murray Harbour !! Worth the stop. 4 Link to comment
