Ozzyal Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 I purchased my 2013 GS LC close to 2 years ago now , sight unseen from interstate and had it shipped to me . I've been plagued with this variable clutch take up point since day one . This is BMW number 6 for me over the years . But I've virtually never been to a dealer , preferring to do my own servicing . When this drive shaft recall thing came up , I asked the service manager about my clutch issue , he ran the vin number and said, yep there's a fix for that , it should have been done by now , I'll order the required parts and we'll do that when you bring it in for the drive shaft , no charge . Well , the fix didn't actually fix it . He said he really couldn't believe how I was managing to ride it it was so bad . He wanted to check with head office to see what else he could try . He called me be 2 days later . After much discussion with Germany , it's been decided they will replace the complete gearbox at now cost to me . This from a dealer who I've never dealt with , for a bike built in 2013 . I'm absolutely astounded . 13
