Calvin (no socks)
I plan to make this one after being inundated by the rain in Lake City this last weekend. That place has a killer menu to boot ! 1 Link to comment

wbw6cos
Down to the wear bars chords. Should have some miles left before the lunch ride. How do your tires look, @Bernie? Getting any installed today? Edited February 21 by wbw6cos I guess I shoulda added the image. 1 1 Link to comment

I think I am at wear bars, don’t worry as long as they hold air you are good. 😊 Edited February 21 by Bernie 1 1 Link to comment

Bernie
Please remember I will need a approximate head count for the restaurant. Of course it maybe more fun to go to Daytona for Bike Week and watch the Baggers drag the bags at speed, BUT you can't beat the company and food. And hopefully the weather will shine on us again. 2 Link to comment

However, based on the current weather forecast, I'm not planning to be there. I shamefully admit that I'm a fair weather rider. 1 Link to comment

Bernie
So I understand that the Weather forecasters are predicting biblical rain for this weekend. I fully understand if you guys rather not get soaking wet while trying to make lunch on Saturday. Unless something beyond my control happens, I will be there, regardless. But if you guys think we should have a replay of the March SECFF lunch sometime before the START week, I think that will be possible. Anyway, if there is some interest, either post here or send me a PM. Otherwise, I hope the forecast is wrong and we will have a nice weekend. 1 Link to comment

wbw6cos
New tires are mounted and ready for some rain. I will be there, Bernie. Good food worth riding for. 1 Link to comment
Ron-M
Bernie, I don't mind riding in the rain during trips or when I am out on a ride and storms pop up, but for this ride I just do not feel like being wet from the start. I keep looking at the weather, and it is persistent, "thunderstorms," throughout the whole route. So, I will not be making the lunch. I am always up for a SECFF lunch ride if you plan another before START. Of course, schedule permitting. 1 Link to comment
MikeB60
I'm with Ron for now looks ugly around here. I'm game for a second try but out for this Saturday. 1 Link to comment
Bill Murray
Ron reflects the conclusion I arrived at a couple of days ago. If we schedule another March lunch meet-up before START and the weather cooperates, I will be there. 1 Link to comment
wbw6cos
It looks like Bernie, Calvin and I? Unless Bernie knows some FB peeps that will make it. 1 Link to comment
MikeB60
The forecast is looking better with most of the rain gone by mid morning. I'll make a final call tomorrow. 1 Link to comment
Bernie
3 hours ago, wbw6cos said: It looks like Bernie, Calvin and I? Unless Bernie knows some FB peeps that will make it. I think Sammy, Doug and plus maybe a few from the Augusta area. The Jax guys are thinking about it. Weather is something we can't control. There is no such thing as a bad ride, there is only bad gear. So I figure we be between 4 and 8 guys. That is still more then the one lunch we had in Swainesboro one year with only 3 guys. I called the restaurant and reduced the head count to 6, but I can adjusted, if needed. So if you change your mind, let me know and we will pull up a chair. Ron-M
I remember one lunch in Tifton where only Bernie, William, and I were present. Even though it was not well attended, it was still good. 2 1 Link to comment
Bernie
Well, @Ron-M actually that was not the smallest lunch meeting. The very first on with @Kinsley had only us 2 attend it, but back then it wasn't called a SECFF Lunch. But over the years we have been very lucky with the weather. 1 Link to comment
wbw6cos
The weather turned out better than I expected. Woo hoo! 1 Link to comment
Bernie
Due to inclement weather or doom & gloom weather forecast only 4 of us enjoyed a great meal and friendly staff. The sun even made a appearance during lunch. So due to so many of you guys missed out on the opportunity to have a great lunch, because of the weather or other commitments, I decided to have a redo of the March SECFF Lunch on April 6th, 2024 @ 11:30 AM. Think of it as a trail run for START 2024, to scuff in your tires and make sure your oil is properly warmed up. I am attaching a few pictures of the menu. Hopefully you can make it. I will make a separate announcement post soon. PS: The real reason of the redo is because I need to try something else on the menu. Edited March 10 by Bernie 6 Link to comment
wbw6cos
And I get to try the Bourbon Pecan Pie next time. The Sweetpotato Cheesecake was delicious. Mix it up, I say. 2 Link to comment
