Motorcycle pet carrier

Has anyone tried a motorcycle pet carrier for a small dog on their RT or GS?  I'm considering the Kuryakyn pet palace, which has consistently positive reviews

I think Kuryakyn makes good stuff and doubt they’d cheap out where a pet’s safety would be involved. This one looks kinda cool because of the Ball Turret Option!  Can’t vouch for the quality.

I saw a BMW rider a few years ago with his dog riding.  He got an "not-so-new" top case and cut out a portion of the top for the dog to look out (with his goggles on) and a short tether inside.  They rode together everywhere.     (sorry, no pics)

There's always the sidecar, especially if your dog is good at learning tricks.

 

 

For the most part I've seen riders using the aforementioned top case or tank bag with a cut out or opening for the dog to stick its head out.  I also saw one guy who bent/concaved in the top of his metal gas tank to create a semi bowl surface for the dog to put its front paws on for balance and basically it just sat in his lap.  Claimed the dog had ridden that way for thousands of miles as the bike was his only means of transportation.
