its.metony
News you can use (Maybe). For all you BMW owners with fuel strip problems. Much to-do on this subject: the unbelievable & collassal engineering failure by BMW engineering: An Argentinian moto-engineering company has come up with a fix that involves disassembling the OEM strip and replacing the transducer strip into the old strip housing (see Fuel Sensor Tech; $156, also other Utube videos) Coincidentally, BMW has their new strip, released about the same time. My dealer quotes $500 replacement cost., $267 strip only, with a 2 year warranty. For 14 years, BMW has screwed over their beloved and devoted public. It took a class action lawsuit ot force their 12 year replacement warranty... and now they have a solution? Did they actually solve it, or did it take this 3rd partycompany to solve it? (Check them out - they are subtantial) Something stinks here: I suggest a collaboration with Fuel Sensor Tech. Maybe this is O.K. and we finally have a solution. Motoghost BMW, Phoenix, lead tech, Jeremy says it's all too soon to verify the efficacy of it and he will not warrant an installation of BMW's part - they refuse him warranty protection as an aftermarket shop anyway. His suggestion: wait and see. Maybe you want to keep all those discarded fuel strip housings. Maybe there's light at the tunnel-end afterall. Link to comment
