RogerC60
This evening I replaced the oil sight glass in a friend's K1200LT. I thought I'd post in this forum since it applies to any motorcycle with a sight glass. I've watched Youtube videos about replacing the sight glass (partly because one day I'll probably have to replace the one in my R1150RT). The recommended technique of breaking out the plastic (or glass) and using a screwdriver (and maybe a hammer) to pry it out wasn't getting me very far. Then I remembered I had a seal puller tool, like you use to pull fork seals. A couple minutes of work with that, and the sight glass was out with no damage to the bore. This worked so well, I wonder why none of the Youtube "experts" mentioned it. Link to comment
