Steve-C
With all the beautiful weather this last week, and the promise of thunderstorms, I figured I would tempt fate and head out into the Welsh valley's for a ride and to stop in at the Rhonda vintage car show. I'm very lucky in this part of the UK, just a 10 minute ride down the M4 motorway takes me past the hustle and bustle of the big (ish) city, And away from the smog of the still active Steel plants of Port Talbot And off into some wonderful countryside, full of hills, mountains and twisty roads looking down on the old Coal mining villages that litter this part of the world. Some of the old miner's cottages Sign's spoiling the fun.... You could be in any part of the world here, these views often remind me of scenery from Colorado or the Alps But my destination for the day was a Vintage car show, some really beautiful old cars on show From both sides of the Atlantic And all over Europe With the sunny weather, convertibles seemed to be the order of the day Can't understand why you don't see more of these old Triumph TR7's. Guess they really just didn't take off, which is a shame as I think they look like a great car. You have to love the original Mini's American stuff just seems huge.... And so nice to see old cars so well preserved Possible one of the best rally cars of all time, least until things went to 4WD and turbo's I'm not sure what to make of this.... Since it was held at a heritage park, there were a few other things there, like this old typewriter And these leftovers from Mining days Course I can't really post on a Bike site without some bikes! But there wasn't that much there apart from this old Triumph in great condition And this Goldwing Which was heavily farkled... And I think the owner had a thing for Thunderbirds.... Complete with matching Trailer I would NOT want to scratch that.... And not time to head off back to the twisties, down the Valley's and home. Still waiting for the thunderstorms...glad I bothered to wash the bike now! Link to comment
