Gibbo
Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone had a clutch basket for sale for a BMW K1200S 2006 2006 model Thanks Ray Link to comment
Lowndes
Hey, Ray, I just rebuilt the clutch on my '09 K1300S. Same clutch as the K12. Well, same basic clutch. It went thru 9 iterations before they got it right and it ceased production. Anyway, are you sure you need the complete basket?? I replaced the plates (the "stack", steel plates and friction plates) and it is working well (1K miles so far). Barnett complete stack for $217 on Amazon - https://www.barnettclutches.com/11/bmw/0/0/2007-bmw-k1200.html, and: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0068ES1VC/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ($182 and get it Wednesday) BMW wants to sell you the complete lamellar (#1 below, or "the stack") package for $999. If you need JUST the "basket" (#4) that's $1,600 USD. https://store.bobsmotorcycles.com/microfiche/BrowseParts.aspx?GroupName=Clutch+(21)&MBike=51576&GroupID=21 There IS an argument for getting the BMW clutch as you'll get the last version with most problems (oil flow) resolved. Have you purchased the "basket wrench" ($60) and the 18 "stretch screws" for the clutch cover?? Depending on the year of your bike you may need the "two groove" pushrod, too. These clutches are a well known weak point in these bikes. Lots to read over on K-bikes. This guy is one of the gurus there and has a clutch for sale: https://www.k-bikes.com/threads/brand-new-k12-clutch-assembly.50700/ Link to comment

Lowndes
Ray, From the "£2000 ", guessing you're across the pond. Over here in the colonies I'd say EME has your stretch screws. You will need 17 of the M6x25 and one of the M6x 20 screws. https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/product-p/clutchbolt132.htm You can reuse the gasket, the slave cyl screws, and 6 basket screws. On the clutch cover, don't change the OEM aluminum stretch screws for steel screws, different coefficient of thermal expansion and electrolytic reaction. You might contact Capt howdy on K-bikes.com and see if he has the basket only. There is also an oil pump drive gear upgrade (one more tooth and more oil to the clutch - BMW bulletin, I think) that is just behind the basket in the bike. Also a cam chain guide/tensioner rails upgrade. 0. Link to comment
