Trunk and Luggage liner

Help All,

Anyone have an idea how to remove the "liner" that's in the luggage of a 08 RT? Trying to paint them and would like to remove the BMW plate and hinges. Looks like someone did or tried to before.

 THIS  might help. Have patience... 

 

I forgot to mention, take a length of dental floss and 'floss/cut' the BMW emblem from the case.

Get the floss behind the emblem and start,  it will cut through the double stick tape.

Thank you for the dental floss tip. I'll warm them up a little first to soften the glue.

 

I'm still unable to remove the liner from any of the three lids.  I'll just have to tape carefully....

 

I have no idea how they got so beat up. Looks like they were dropped a couple times on gravel. Chips ranged in size from a needle point to a pencil eraser. 

 

I've got most of the nicks filled but they're are still some of those pin point nicks. Going to try another coat of sandable primer after which I'll wet sand everything to 400 and spray the color coat.

The reflectors on the saddlebag lids will come off the same way the BMW emblem did.
