MikeB60
Not a ride tale more of a drive tale but it seemed to fit. Arrived in Deutschland last weekend and after 12 to fourteen hour days I gave the team the weekend off. Never been to the Porsche Museum and decided to visit. Two and a half hour or so drive from Amberg, got a early start and headed out. Most of the drive was on the A6 and unrestricted. Gave the Audi A4 diesel hybrid a good workout. I can usually talk my way into a 3 series or Benz but all they had was the underpowered Audi or a Hyundai. Driving a Hyundai in Germany just didn't seem right! The Porsche Museum was awesome and super crowded. Quite a few race cars and the serial number 1 356. The 1996 911 Polizei in the following photos is the 1,000,000 Porsche built (not 1000000 911 that was later) and was actually used by the Baden Wurtenberg Polizei. The pink car was nicked named the Fat Pig so they painted it pink and outlined the cuts of meat on the car. It only raced once. Obviously there are a bunch of 911s. There is also a photo of an experimental 928 four door, damn ugly if you ask me! The cut away Porsche tractor was cool I remember seeing those work the fields when i was station in Schweinfurt in the 80s. Small in comparison to the BMW Museum in Munich but definitely worth a visit. 10 Link to comment
Hank in WV
That 4 door reminds me a bit of a 4 door Avanti.. 1 Link to comment
