Dang, sad to see yet another artist  from that great period in music to pass onto the big concert in the sky.  The Weight is a favorite and smacks me inspirationally just as much as the first time I heard that song.

Yeah I was thinking (but don’t know) who was the bigger name at the time.

My guess would be that they were pretty much neck and neck. About 5 years before that, the stones filmed a show with an all star line up.The Rollin Stones Rock and roll circus. One line up was John Lennon ,Eric Clapton on guitars, Keith Richards on base and Mitch Mitchel on drums. They played Yer Blues from the White album. Worth checking out. Anyway, back to Robbie, bummer, another great from that great era of music gone

Robbie and Eric reprised this song 30 years later when Eric Clapton was inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame.
