2005 r1200st 35,000 miles. On the centerstand with a jack under engine to lift front wheel off the ground, when I pull forward and push back there is a little movement in the front end, is this normal for a tele lever suspension or should it be solid with no freeplay like conventional steering head front end, what think you? thanks Sam.

No free play.

Put one finger on a joint, bridging the stationary part to the moving part, move the wheel to replicate the slop.

If that joint is loose, you will feel the looseness with your finger.

thanks for the info I did a closer inspection and I believe I got very lucky the movement was at the bottom of the joint assembly and I found the bottom thread was not tight approx. 1/4 turn loose so I loosened it off 2-3 turns and put some blue loctite on it and tightened it and no more play, just for info I used a spring loaded basin wrench that swivels to get in there and tighten it!
