Hank in WV
Does anyone know how to remove the mirrors on my 2012 RT? Link to comment
ST and RT
I have a 2013 RT, so I believe its the same. That little bent torq wrench in the tool bag should do the trick. There is an access hole on bottom of mirror bodywork. The fun is that it all by feel to get the right alignment to seat the wrench and then loosen. After that its a fairly straight forward process that I cannot recall exactly, but after I did it I decided that its a pretty good design and harder to break than I imagined. Check out the photos I took while doing it. It may just help to see what shape things are behind the mirror. Link to comment

I was very leery about the procedure the first time I removed my mirrors, but once the first one came out and I understood the design it made sense. Link to comment
Hank in WV
Thanks RT/ST. Unfortunately I just can't find that screw. I even used a pin punch to try and find it but nothing. Had to walk away for awhile. Link to comment
ST and RT
It was over a year back when i did this, been thinking on it. I think it comes down to pushing the mirror angle around to that elusive and that seemingly impossible to find "just right" position. I think i recall pushing the lower corner in/back to try and align it. Perhaps a strong flashlight and some ever so awkward neck contortions may help. Or this? 1 Link to comment
Hank in WV
I gave up on the left mirror, then tried the right. Found that screw right away. Found both of them on my 2010. Went back to the left one on the '12 and still couldn't find it. In desperation, I pried the mirror out and it popped off with a loud pop. I almost had a heart attack but nothing broke. Turns out that mirror is different than the other three. It has no screw or boss to screw one into. Don't know why the diff. Now to get everything back together again. Thanks again RT& ST. jjpen
If the mirror does not have the screw, it is not an oem part. Link to comment
