Joe Frickin' Friday
Looking at BMW's website, the Option 719 Classic and Sport wheels for the current model year R1250RT look exactly the same, although maybe the Classic appears a bit lighter than the Sport. Can someone tell me what the difference is? Link to comment
Mellow
Looks like the sports are a little darker or black w/milled highlights The classic look more silver-to-dark-grey w/milled highlights Link to comment
Lowndes
"...machined milling." ?? Is there a different kind of milling?? Link to comment
taylor1
Since I was just milling around, I looked it up and couldn't find anything 1 Link to comment

I just realized that when you actually go to configure a bike, the cobbled-up photo of the bike that they show you makes the distinctions even clearer. Here's all three side by side: standard front wheel, 719 Sport, and 719 Classic: In those pics the 719 classic looks like it's a much lighter shade of gray/silver, not much of a contrast with the milled highlights. 4 hours ago, Lowndes said: "...machined milling." ?? Is there a different kind of milling?? Maybe they're trying to put a positive spin on the heavy machining marks caused by using a dull mill bit, a deep cut, and a high feed rate? 1 1 Link to comment
Twisties
Of course, if you get a GS you can just get spoked and be done with this nonsense! :-) 1 Link to comment
