WRP Posted June 21, 2023 Share Posted June 21, 2023 After reading Stevegs post about lack of 18" tires for his R1100RT, I wanted to put this out there. Bought my '98 new, after the stock hoops wore out I switched to Metz. I wore out several sets-great product. For some reason I switched to Mich 'pilots' ,also great tires. Went through 2 sets, then due to availability I recently went back to Metz. My experience is (if my rememory is working) is the only time any of the Metz needed weights was when a (new) tech installed one 180º off. New Metz no weights. All the Michelin's needed weights. Any similar results? Comments? Link to comment

9Mary7 Posted June 26, 2023 Share Posted June 26, 2023 My Metz/Pirellis usually balance with no weights other than what it took to balance the wheel itself....... When I mount fresh tires I don't strip the old weights off until it after goes in the balancer to get checked. Usually no weights need changing. Link to comment
