RandyShields
A Cleveland area schoolboy was in science class and the teacher, focusing on a weather lesson, asked the class what the significance of the number 32 was. "Jimmy Brown" piped up that young football fan. He was so right. Many still consider this Hall of Famer to be the best runner -- or football player -- to ever play the game. 12,000+ rushing yards in nine short seasons. He brought Cleveland its last championship in 1964, then bolted to Hollywood when Art Modell (later admitting it was his biggest mistake as an owner) challenged him to choose between football and the movies. Fans of The Dirty Dozen were glad he chose films, but Browns fans faced many years of suffering after that. I grew up near Cleveland and was a big fan of his talent. RIP no. 32. 2 Link to comment
