KBoot
I rcently acquired a 2011 BMW 1200RT. I could use a manual one for all the functions, displays switches, adjustments, tires, etc Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, when I was searching to try to find a manual I kept seeing R 1200RT. Is this truly a R then 1200RT? I don't see anything that indicates as such. If you have any very important key things to recognize please let me know. Thanks Link to comment
lkraus
Owners Manual here: https://manuals.bmw-motorrad.com/manuals/BA-Extern/IN/BA-INTERNET-COM/PDF/R_0440_RM_0811_R1200RT_07.pdf Yes, you really have a R1200RT. The first R indicates the boxer engine, and the number is the nominal displacement (actually 1170cc). The RT suffix indicates the touring model. GS is the dirt-street model, R is the naked bike, RS is a bit sportier. In some contexts, your bike is also classified as a series K26, model 0440. It is also unofficially known as a Camhead, to distinguish it from the earlier Hexhead engines, and the later Wetheads and Shiftheads. Link to comment
