have searched the internet, apparently a common, "fuel stip" issue with these bikes.  I guess I just mark my mileage, like I did in the 1970'S

my sensor seems to be fixed on "full tank"  A few days ago, it was working fine.

There is an extended warranty on certain models' fuel strips.  Might check with your dealer to see if you motorcycle is covered and if so, the warranty period has not elapsed.

Search on "fuel strip" at ADVRIDER.COM.  Lots of conversation about home remedies.

Morning Joe

What motorcycle model & year are you working with?

You are posting in the oilhead forum here, the oilhead doesn't use a fuel strip.  The hexhead uses the fuel strip.

If a hexhead (1200) bike then very possibly a fuel strip issue.

If an oilhead 1100 or 1150) then possibly a crushed fuel gauge sender tube inside the fuel tank  (those can get crushed when the fuel tank sides get sucked in due to vacuum caused by a plugged emission evap system canister).
