Bulb test relay K75 1987

 Hi the warning light goes out when I apply front and rear brakes but won't go off if the lights are on. I changed a dead tail bulb but warning light stays on, can the relay be tested or am I buying a new relay?

It's been years since I have worked on the rear electrical light circuit on the old K75.

 

I don't know (at least I can't tell you anyhow) if there is an easy way to test the BMU (Bulb Monitoring Unit).  Back years ago I had a known good BMU I could substitute into the old K bikes as a quick verification test. 

 

Does your tail light & brake light properly illuminate?

 

If so are they the correct brightness?  (not dim looking?)

 

I do have a old (paper form) wire diagram for the K 75 but it doesn't show the internal circuits that are inside the BMU so I can't even give you a test or check procedure.
