I agree with Jim, that switch looks like the one I had on a 02R1150RT, I installed Motolights when new.

That has to be the most “light switch” looking switch I’ve ever seen on a motorcycle - I’d expect it to turn on an overhead reading lamp ;)

 

What happens when you switch it? I assume nothing you can see or you wouldn’t have asked, but…

Don't have one of those on my '99 RT.  Gotta be after market.  Just follow the wires.

Since the kill switch tab is broken off, I would suspect that it is a substitute for the kill switch.

A lot of loose wires with varying broken connectors and none of the fairing made it through the wrecking yard. There are some wires that may have been some kind of lighting on the fork legs.
