I don't like lane assist on my car. I really don't want to have to fight it on my motorcycle. Just stop riding if you need all the nannies to keep you safe.

I typically don't stay in one lane long enough while riding to have L/A do much. So I usually just turn it off.

I can see it being a real pin on a motorcycle as personally I like to roll out to either side of my lane to allow adjacent automobiles to see me in their side view mirrors. Plus I do like to move right out to the lane edges to peer around vehicles in front of me if I can't see through them easily.

But I'm definitely not against it as it does prevent some accidents.

Having it on my automobiles & trucks has turned out to be a good thing as it lowers my insurance rates enough to be noticeable.

My biggest issue is autonomous vehicles that can't or don't recognize motorcycles or self driving systems that don't recognize motorcycles.

Maybe when the put Lane Assist on motorcycles they should also add a local radar or GPS location output that can tell autonomous & self driving vehicle systems there is a motorcycle in the area & EXACTLY where it is located at.

They could adopt something forced on general aviation a couple of years ago.  It's called ADS A/B.  Works great.  Cost about $2000 for one that shows on your display, and about 1/2 that if you just want sound.  If adopted for the MC market and cars price would go way down.  The issue would be filtering.  You don't want to see every car around you for 10 miles.
