Camhead to wethead

I've sold my 2010 RT to a mate and am waiting for my new to me wethead GS to arrive  .  Does the oil filter on the wethead use the same filter wrench  ? 

Also the front axle Allen key ? 

Just wondering whether to pass on these tools with the RT ?

Oil filter base stampings differ from Mfgr to Mfgr, so pick the supplier you want to use for your WetHead and get that specific oil filter wrench.

 

I don't feel compelled to stick with just one brand so I use a more universal oil filter removal tool.

The WetHead's and ShiftHead bikes don't use the Quick Release axle hex drive...hence "Quick Release"

The axle is held on with a bolt on the LH side of the forks and once it's removed and the pinch bolts are loosened, the axle slides out of the RH side.  I just remove the bolt with a 17mm wrench then re-thread a couple of threads and hit is across with the palm of my hand, then relieve a little of the weight of the tire/rim and the axle can be pulled thru.

 

 

So if it were me, I'd pass both of those tools along with your bike.
