Can air deflectors be taken off for cleaning?

Let me know.  I switched to a Jurock7 shield last year and am wondering if these even need to be on there at all.  In any case, need a good cleaning and I'm reluctant to force them off.

Yes.  The wind deflectors are held on with a long screw.  You have to remove the instrument cover to get to the screws.  And to do that you have to remove the gauge cover, mirrors, right and left fairing panels and the headlight adjuster.  Not hard...just a PITA.

A PITA indeed.  I've promised myself the next time I have access to the screws I will paint the inside of the deflectors black.  Plasti-Dip, maybe.
